The purpose of this paper is to point out the importance of social services for aged women. The investigation was conducted through life history research of aged women who have been cared for in women's residential care facilities. These women have become dependent on social services due to social and environmental circumstances that force them to live below the poverty line.
As a result of this investigation, some important facts regarding social services for aged womem were obtained. First, their living standards and conditions declined after divorce or separation, and they also became mentally unstable. Secondly, when they were in trouble, most of them weren't helped by family, friends, community, or governmental services. Thirdly, most of them changed their employment and residence repeatedly, so they did not have a strong link to any community.
In conclusion to this investigation, government support and services are deemed necessary to ease these problems and offer ongoing support to help aged women overcome these conditions.
