The author Inamura held exhibitions on the Andean Civilization in five prefectures-Akita, Fukushima, Kanagawa, Kagoshima, and Oita-with the cooperation of the Study Center in each place, and the others helped the projects.
Through the experience of the exhibitions, the author discovered much merit in the cooperation between the university and museums. Thus, the author proposed the establishment of a museum in our university in adition to the museum curatorship training course, in March 2018. The executives were in general agreement on the plan. Then, the author Conducted out basic research in 2019 for the museumʼs establishment as a project by the Institute for Strategic Studies in Learning and Education, finding out the resources required, such as a space for exhibitions, old equipment for broadcast, and laboratory instruments, among other things. Utilizing the available resources, the
museum could be established without incurring any cost. Subsequently, its tremendous impact on education and university development can be expected. In 2020, to present a concrete image of the Museum of our university, a “model exhibition” was set up as an actual example. This exhibit was 70% complete by June 2021. In 2021, the exhibition project was again selected as a research project by the Institute for Strategic Studies in Learning and Education, and we continued to work toward its completion. This article reports the process of setting up the exhibit, and describes the significance of the museum, its concept, and an overview of the exhibition.
