| 内容記述 | Enhancement and improvement of higher education are becoming important issues in Japan. In 1993, the National Institute of Multimedia Education started a research project, "The development of self-directed learning programs to improve university education based on video-recordings of teaching and learning processes." This article reviews studies of teaching and learning processes which the author, a member of the project, conducted. It included: the perspectives of research on learning; analyses of observational and experimental data of learning processes; significance of the research; chronological table of the themes. Applications of methods and results of preceding research to the present project were discussed in terms of field study, improving teaching on the basis of learning processes, data analyses for characterization of individuals, modeling and self-modeling of teaching and learning activities, development of self-directed learning programs for teachers and students, interrelationship between basic and applied research. The article eventually became a self-evaluation of the author's research. | |||||
