This idea was proposed at the council meeting in March 2018 and the project has been promoted since 2019. in 2022, the project team（PT）for setting up the university museum was established. Tsurumi and Hada led two projects（research projects of the Institute for Strategic Studies in Learning and Education）in cooperation with the PT and the model exhibition was completed and provisionally opened in March 2023.\nThe model exhibition consisted of three zones of “Permanent Exhibits” and “Special Exhibits”. The “Permanent Collection” consisted of Zone I “History of The Open University of Japan”, Zone II “History and Diversity of the Earth and Humanity”, and Zone III “Research and Education at The Open University of Japan”, while the theme of the“Special Exhibition” was “The World of Kaoru Kanetaka”.
