These are the major findings:\n　1. The emotional life cycle goes up and down between the O level (neutral) and the +1 level (good), on the average．\n　2. The level of a woman's emotional life cycle is higher than a man's, through-out the life span.\n　3. The emotional life cycle is particularly unstable during adolescence, young adulthood, and middle age.\n　4. A woman's emotional life cycle is more unstable than a man's.\n　5. In the teens, success and failure in education strongly control both a man's and　woman's emotional life cycle.\n　6. In the twenties, love, marriage, and children strongly control both a man's and a woman's emotional life cycle.\n　7. In the thirties, the influence of the family career weakens, relatively speak-ing, in the case of a woman. On the other hand, in the case of a man, the influence of the work career increases, relatively speaking.\n　8. In the forties, both men and women look for other possibilities of self-realization outside their work and family.\n　9.
