Behind the content of those essays, we can see the influence of Iku Takenaka, a poet living at Suma, who guided Yoshida around Kobe. The present writer examines Yoshida's \"essays on savours\" around Kobe, comparing them with essays by Takenaka on similar subjects in order to prove that foods and restaurants described in Yoshida's essays were selected mostly under guidance of Takenaka.
