| 内容記述 | 字幕研究プロジェクトに関して、これまでの論考5）で、放送大学のラジオ授業の字幕は聴覚障害学生のみならず、音声の聞き取りに問題を抱える高齢者や外国人への支援となり、また一般学生にとっても、授業の理解や記憶の定着という点で実質的な効果があることを論じてきた。本稿では、初めに、本学のラジオ授業字幕の制作コストや、担当講師による字幕の確認作業の負担について論じる。次に、本学が活用するシステムを含む４種類の音声認識システムを使って、学問領域が異なる６コースのラジオ授業のテキスト化を試み、それぞれの認識率の拡大につながる使い方を、本学の授業の諸条件と共に考察する。これらの検証を踏まえて、本学ラジオ授業字幕の拡大を阻む障壁を解消するための一助としたい。 | |||||

| 値 | In a previous project we discussed the benefits of using subtitles with radio lectures not only for students with hearing impairment but also for elderly students and foreign students who have difficulties in aural comprehension. We also noted substantial improvements in both clarity of understanding and memory retention for general students. In this paper we describe the current status of this use of subtitles and evaluate the associated production costs and the additional burden placed on course instructors to check their accuracy and make corrections. We go on to evaluate four speech recognition systems which have been used at the OUJ and compare their performance when applied to six radio lectures from different academic fields. On the basis of these results we highlight some of the problems that must be addressed and indicate some possible solutions. |
