| 内容記述 | This paper is intended as an investigation of the rise and fall of a GHK-TV, the first cable TV in Japan. GHK-TV started to broadcast in 1963 at the town of Gujyo-Hachiman, a mountainous area where there were no other conventional TV stations available. The TV station televised nearly two hours, twice a day through the joint subscription line. There we can see the close relationship between the media and its audience. The station ended broadcasting about two years after its inauguration when the relay station was set up in this area and the people in the town could watch nation wide TV networks. What I wish to accomplish in this paper is to clarify the limits and the possibilities of the role of a TV station as a form of community media. | |||||
