放送大学における心理学実験実習科目の現状と課題

本稿では、放送大学における心理学実験実習科目の現状とその課題を報告する。放送大学は通信制大学として主に放送授業を行うが、「心理学実験」は実習科目であり、かつては対面授業が必須とされてきた。コロナ禍以前は「心理学実験1 」「心理学実験2 」「心理学実験3 」の3 科目が全国の学習センターで対面開講され、20 〜30名の少人数クラスで実施されていた。しかし、2020年の新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大により対面授業が困難になり、急遽オンライン完結型の実習科目が開設された。2022年度以降は、ライブWeb授業として「心理学実験（基礎）」が常設され、対面授業と同様の内容がオンラインで提供されるようになった。
心理学実験実習は、心理学における基礎的な研究手法を学ぶ、資格取得を目指す学生にとって不可欠な科目である。授業では、学生が実験者や実験参加者として実験を行い、そのデータを分析し、レポートとしてまとめる。また、オンライン実験サイトの導入により、オンラインでも様々な実験課題が実施可能となった。2024年度からは面接授業にBYOD方式が導入されたため、学生が自身のPCを使って実験に参加できる環境を整備している。
授業の質を確保するために、標準化されたシラバスや評価基準の統一が図られ、心理学の資格認定基準を満たす学習内容が提供されている。またオンラインの授業では、LMS（Moodle）の掲示板機能やZoomのブレイクアウトルームを活用し、学生同士の交流や相互評価の機会を設けることで、オンライン環境であっても密度の高い学習を実現している。一方で、オンラインでの授業にハードルを感じる学生もおり、ICTに不慣れな学生には対面授業での単位取得も可能とするカリキュラムを整えている。
放送大学の学生の多様なニーズに応えつつも確実に必要な知識とスキルを習得し、資格取得に必要な基準を満たせるよう、心理学実験実習科目は今後も充実が図られることが期待される。

This paper examines the current state and challenges of psychology experiment courses at the Open University of Japan. While the university primarily employs broadcast-based instruction, psychology experiment courses have traditionally required face-to-face sessions. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, three experiment courses were conducted in small, in-person classes across the country. However, in response to pandemic restrictions, the university introduced fully online versions of these courses. Since 2022, one of these courses has been permanently available, offering content equivalent to that of in-person classes.
These courses are essential for students aiming to develop core research skills in psychology and fulfill certification requirements. Students engage in experiments, analyze data, and write reports. An online experiment platform now enables various tasks to be completed remotely, and since 2024, a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) system has allowed students to use their personal devices in class.
To maintain academic quality, standardized syllabi and evaluation criteria have been established. Additionally, interactive tools on the LMS(Moodle) and Zoom facilitate student collaboration and peer review, fostering a high-quality learning experience even in a virtual environment. Recognizing that some students may feel uncomfortable with online learning, the curriculum also offers the option to earn credits through in-person classes, ensuring flexible access to the necessary skills and knowledge.
The psychology experiment courses at the Open University of Japan are designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills to meet certification standards while accommodating diverse learning needs.
