| 内容記述 | 学習スタイルの研究は、学び方の個人差という観点から、欧米、特にイギリスとアメリカで30年ほど前から盛んになされてきた。画一的な教育が一般的に行われてきた日本では、個人差に目を向ける学習スタイルの研究は、欧米に比べるとその歴史はかなり浅い。近年、「学習者中心の教育（student-centered learning）」が謳われるようになり、又、e-Learningの導入により、異なった学習スタイルに合わせて学習環境を構築することが可能になりつつある。そういった中で、日本の教育においても学習スタイルの個人差に目をむけ、個々の学習スタイルにあった学習環境を提供すること、及び、学習者が自分の学習スタイルを認識して、それに見合った学習環境を選択することは、教育効果を最大限にするためにも重要な要素であるといえる。この論文では、これまで欧米で行われてきた学習スタイルのさまざまな研究を比較評価し、その根底にある学習スタイルの概念・理論を理解することによって、日本人の特性に見合った学習スタイルの研究を行うための基礎を築くことを目的とする。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | Research on learning styles has been done mostly in the U.S. and the U.K. for about 30 years, from the perspectives of looking at individual differences in learning. In Japan, the attention to individual differences in learning has been overlooked for a long time as standardized education systems have been the norm. However, recently the notion of “student-centered learning” has started to surface in discussions among educators in Japan, and with the technology of e-learning it is becoming possible to provide learners with individualized environments for learning. Now is the time to look at individual differences in learning styles with the aim to provide students with optimum learning environments or to have learners aware of their own learning styles so that they can choose an optimum learning environment for themselves. In this paper, past studies on learning styles are reviewed and those concepts and theories of learning styles that have been widely regarded as landmarks are discussed with the hope that it will lay the ground for learning style research in Japan. | |||||||||||
