| 内容記述 | 本稿は、近世の朱子学者佐藤直方が、徒然草をどのように理解していたかを考察するとともに、直方の徒然草観が、近世においてどのような位置を占めるかを明らかにするものである。 佐藤直方には、『辨艸』と『しのゝめ』という、徒然草の抄出書が二種類ある。本稿ではまず第一に、『辨艸』の特異本文を取り上げて徒然草の諸本や『しのゝめ』と比較検討し、第二に『辨艸』と『しのゝめ』の書名の由来などを考察した。第三に、抄出章段の多い『しのゝめ』を詳しく見てゆくことによって、多面的な徒然草の中から、どのような内容をどのような基準で直方が抜き出しているのか、その特徴を浮かび上がらせた。それによって、当時、徒然草は教訓的な書物として理解されることが多かったのであるが、佐藤直方の徒然草理解には独自のものがあり、彼は徒然草を、日常生活に役立つ教訓書としてではなく、人間の心のあり方を指し示している書物として理解していたことがわかった。 最後に、このような徒然草の抄出書の研究が、徒然草の本質を照射するための示唆に満ちた方法であることを述べて、今後の研究の展望を示した。 |

| 値 | This paper studies how Sato Naokata, a Zhuxi scholar in the Edo era, interpreted Tsurezuregusa through the process of editing and extracting the text, and specifies its significance and position held in the centemporaneous context of literature. Naokata published two extract editions of Tsurezuregusa; Benso and Shinonome. The paper examines the latter edition in detail, for it has more chapters extracted from the original text than Benso. It will thereby clarify the reasons why Naokata extracted some particular chapters of Tsurezuregusa, and illustrate some significant manners in which he did so. Instead of reading Tsurezuregusa as a book of moral instructions for daily life, he treated it to be a book on the reflection of the state of human mind. The paper concludes by showing how this type of studies of the extract editions of Tsurezuregusa will be suggestive and helpful for us to appreciate the real nature of Tsurezuregusa more deeply, and how it will lead to a further development of Tsurezuregusa studies. | |||||
